How do I create a MyFace Hoku CheckCard? Just visit any HFCU branch and request it. We’ll take your photo and submit the request. Please note that the photo featured on the card must be a photo of the cardholder. The photo must be tasteful and clearly represent the cardholder.
Is there a cost for the MyFace card? Your first MyFace card is FREE. Any additional requests for a MyFace card will be subject to our standard Debit/ATM Card Replacement Fee.
Why would I want to add my photo to my Debit Card? You can add a photo of yourself to your card for a personal touch and for added identity protection.
How long will it take for me to receive my MyFace card? Once the request is submitted, it will take 8 to 10 business days to receive your MyFace card in the mail. Can I change the background on the debit card? Not at this time; however, we are always looking to improve our services. So, it may be an option in the future. Can I use a photo of myself that I took on my own? No, we would like you to come in for your photo. You will get as many tries as you need!
What do I need to do with my old Hoku CheckCard? Once you receive your new MyFace card, you should activate it and destroy your old card to ensure that you don’t accidentally try to use it again.
Will I need to get a new PIN (Personal Identification Number) if I am just replacing an existing Hoku CheckCard with a MyFace card? You will receive a new PIN with your MyFace card. However, if you would like to change your new PIN back to your old PIN, you may take your new MyFace card to any branch and have your old PIN assigned.
If I am getting a debit card for the first time and am electing to get a MyFace card, when will I receive my PIN (Personal Identification Number)? If you are getting a new debit card on an account which did not have a debit card in the past, a PIN will be sent to you by separate mailer. However, if you would prefer to choose your own PIN, you may bring the card to any branch to have a PIN assigned to it. Also, it’s important to remember that signature-based transactions (generally when you select “credit” rather than “debit”) do not require a PIN for approval so you can use your card in advance of receiving your PIN if you wish.
Do I need to change my account numbers on any pre-existing automatic payments I have established with my existing Hoku CheckCard? Yes, your card account number and expiration date will change. Please ensure these new pieces of information are updated with whoever you make payments to using your card.
My husband has a debit card and I have a debit card on our joint account. Can we each have different images? Can we both have the same image? Since the photo must be of yourself, you will each have different images. Each card order is separate and will track to the card number. What happens if I have multiple debit cards at HFCU? If you choose to feature a photo, it will apply to all HFCU debit cards you own.
When I receive my renewal card, will it still have my photo? Yes. Upon expiration of your card, any reissued cards will have the same image as your most recently requested design. However, if you change your design within 60 days of expiration, you may receive two cards: one with the old design, and one with the new design. And it is possible you might receive the new design first followed by a card with the old design.
